Endorphins

So, this post is not to brag about what I have done, but to share the knowledge I have gained because of what I have done.

My old life: stay in bed as long as possible each morning, wishing there were more hours of sleep, so tired all the time, no energy ... thus the Diet Coke and Red Bull habit.

Last night, I walked/ran on my treadmill for 35 minutes. I felt SO good! I was in bed by 9:30, asleep by 10:00. I woke up at 5:00 AM and had no plans, but as I lay in bed, I was so motivated and excited. I jumped out of bed and went downstairs for nearly 45 minutes. The endorphins are awesome! I have had so much energy today. I have cleaned my house and everything.

It made me remember a few years back when I was taking a nursing class to get certified. I would get up at 5, go to the gym, go to work full time, go to school every night until 10. I knew, and remember telling a person in my class, that the only reason I was able to do all that I do is because I exercised.

So, my challenge to you is this: If you have not started working out ... start! It is so hard. I get that. It is hard when you feel so tired, especially when you have young kids and are working and trying to make ends meet. But I tell you what, you make that effort, and you will have more energy throughout the day to get done all that you have to do.

Start today! If I can do it ... so can you!
