
At a certain level of Calorie Intake, if the body doesn't get the minimum (mine is about 1400) - it burns sugar instead of fat. This is why dieting too much doesn't do any good, because the body thinks it is starving and burns sugar and not fat. The same is true when the heart rate gets up above a certain level - so eating too little and working too hard can be to a person's disadvantage.
So people may want to go in to a 24 hour fitness, or something and pay a little money and get a metabolism work-up to help them know at what heart rate they will be burning fat and not sugar, and what their intake should be for the best weight loss. The trainer was able to do all that, and tell me what I should do and how I should eat to lose weight the easiest.
So I personally need to stay between 1400 calories and 1800 to maintain where I am... I have a whole print out and it is so helpful. It would be a great idea for people to use to start their goals.. Just something I have been wanting to share with you. -Costa Rica Caterpillar
